KANE2K

I was lax in sending a greeting for Christmas, but figured I better send a holiday greeting before computers around the world shut down and you all crawl into the confines of your shelters after the crippling effects of the Y2K bug take effect later this week.

But I do indeed hope that all of you had a wonderful holiday. I spent the holidays at home, the first time since I left for the service over four years ago. It was wonderful to be around family. My Grandma came up from Florida and both sides of our family gathered at my parents home in Pittsburgh both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. But in an odd sort of way, I kind of miss my hometown during the holidays, which over the years became Ottawa, Illinois.

Prior to the holidays, my good friend Dan Millbauer stopped by to hang out with me for a week in Pittsburgh. This is after our trip to Thailand not more than two months ago.

I got to see Rich Marincic and Rod Swearingen on the return trip from Tokyo to Los Angeles. They stopped by to see me at LAX.

Matt Wrobel also stopped by to visit in early November, and that was a good time as well.

I don't have any plans for New Years, and ultimately I guess I'm disappointed because of it. The new years celebrations for me will be rather anti-climatic, but I am looking forward to the new year, which holds a few surprises and tons of hope. An e-mail will follow with word of said surprises later next year (or month, depending on how you look at it.)

I hope that the new year also holds suprises and hopes for all of you.

Hope you had a swell Christmas, and have a safe and happy New Year.
